HISTORY & EXPERIENCE – A Family Business for Over 120 Years!

Ballard Truck Center’s history began in 1906 when Louie Ballard, a blacksmith and carriage maker, opened L.H. Ballard Garage. His business met the need for repair work for carriages and automobiles. In 1928, he added automotive sales for Chrysler and later expanded to include Mack Trucks. Later, Ballard’s focus shifted to commercial trucks becoming Ballard Truck Center. Over the years, Ballard Truck Center expanded to add more family members to the team, more truck brands, more locations and more satisfied customers.

Ballard Truck Center is still family-owned with their 5th generation operating 9 commercial truck locations in MA, RI, NH & ME. They sell new Mack Trucks, Volvo, Hino Trucks, Isuzu Trucks, and Tico Yard Spotters, as well as used trucks of all makes & models. They also sell new & used trailers including Reitnouer Aluminum Trailers, Trail King and XL Specialized Trailers.
